Malu 'Aina (Land of Peace) is the Hawaiian name given to the Center for Non-Violent Education and Action located ten miles south of the city of Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaii. We are a spiritual community based on peace, justice and sustainable organic farming.

The seed to establish Malu 'Aina was a donation of 22 acres of land in 1980. A wide variety of fruits and vegetables are grown to share freely with people in need.

We work cooperatively, seeking, through aloha 'aina (love for the land), a deeper understanding of non-violence as a way of life. Malu 'Aina provides room and board along with a valuable experience in organic farming and aquaculture. Life on the farm involves physical labor and simple living.

Many local and international peacemakers visit Malu 'Aina for reflection, discussion, and action-planning on problems facing Hawaii and the world.

Malu 'Aina's founder Jim Albertini has made a home of this land, and has dedicated himself for the last twenty years to managing and caring for it. He is an advocate of simple living and anti-militarism. Jim is an active supporter of the movement for a nuclear-free and independent Pacific region.
